First and foremost, please excuse my wrinkled skirt. I don’t own an iron, or a fancy steamer, and drawer space is limited so sometimes I pull things out (in less than desirable shape) and I gotta roll with it. And before you say it: I refuse to run my shower and use up all the hot water for the sake of any clothing item. But now that we’re on the topic of my outfit, I should probably talk you through it because that is what ‘bloggers’ do. I call this look “a poor gal’s Naomi Wild Things ensemble”. Yes, my skirt looks nothing like Realisation Par’s $180 original , but I can dream, can’t I? I have a tough time shelling out that much money for anything, not to mention something that’s likely to give me a good bit of chub rub in the summer time. My lesser quality skirt was a thrifted find (ahem, $5.00), and will certainly do the trick until I am in a much higher tax bracket. The true star of the show are my new Doc Marten Bianca boots! They are my current obsession, only mildly interrupted by a few painful walks to and from work until they were properly broken-in. And to confront the obvious contradiction—a good pair of shoes (that will last a long time) is always worth the investment.
All in all, we had a fairly relaxing weekend. My hours at work have changed once again, and I have also taken on a new freelance client, so this was mine and Pat’s last day off together for a while at least. Long gone are the days of making breakfast together on Sunday mornings, but alas, such is the life of a working gal.
We spent the day out getting coffee, trying to find Pat the perfect pair of trousers-that-aren’t-dress-pants (easier said than done, let me tell ya!) and grabbing some crafts supplies for a few Christmas gifts I’ve got planned. I truly don’t have the same stamina as I used to though, because once 4 o’clock hit, I wanted to be home with my sweats on. What is it about shopping that’s so bloody exhausting? Pat and I basically had to drag ourselves back to the car, and once I had the seat warmer on I was a true goner. . .until we got home and started playing Spyro Reignited because dang that game is addicting! It was the only Playstation game my sisters and I played when we were kids, so when I heard they were reissuing it, I knew I had to play it for all the nostalgia. Truth be told, I am a terrible ‘gamer’ (ugh, I can’t say that word without cringing). I can never coordinate the two controls at the same time, so I end up backwards and completely disoriented. We settled in for some dinner, and spent the rest of the evening trying to peel ourselves up off the couch. A lazy Monday, indeed.
Happy weekend, all!
